Home Doorstep Visiting

If you can’t get to the Colchester Sight Centre, we are offering a home visiting service either on your doorstep or in your garden as long as it is accessible without going into your property. We can’t demonstrate the full range of equipment we have, but we can demonstrate smaller items as well as giving you advice and support. Just call us on 01206 548196 to arrange a visit.

Town Centre Guidelines

Town centres have now reopened as non essential shopping has returned. The majority are adopting ‘keep left’ guidance for social distancing along with the current 2 metre  guidance. If you plan on visiting your local town and you want to be certain of specific guidance, contact your local authority.

Mike Wray, the Business Improvement District Manager for Chelmsford advises:

“KEEP LEFT” will be used between the Shire Hall and Rayleigh Hi Fi in the High Street.

Same up Moulsham Street, to McCartney’s Estate agency

Same in Springfield Road, Metro Bank to crossing before Tesco.

Same in Tindal Street from COTE to H Samuel.

Sam Good, the Business Improvement District Manager for Colchester  has this information on Colchester Town Centre

Colchester town centre is now working to a keep left message, especially at pinch points across the town centre (Eld Lane, Bank Passage, St Marys bridge and Pelems Lane).

Social Distancing:
Essex Highways have extended selected pavements throughout the town to increase shared space. This includes St John Street and Head Street where one road lane has been closed.

Culver Square Shopping Centre has now introduced a one-way system, again following the keep left message. They have barriers through the middle of the centre demonstrating the one-way system. Culver Square security is also informing people where they can about the new layout.

Queuing:
Many businesses have now placed queuing vinyls on the floor outside their businesses.
